How many DVDs can I check out and how long can I keep them?

You may check out up to 5 DVDs per adult card and keep them for 1 week. Library cards must be in good standing in order to check out items.

You may check out up to 10 CDs per library card and keep them for 3 weeks. Library cards must be in good standing in order to checkout items.

Can I use the computer if I don’t have a library card?

Yes! You just need to show a current ID (driver’s license or school ID) at the circulation desk to receive a visitor’s pass.

Can I check out magazines?

Yes! Any past issues may be checked out (15 per household) for 3 weeks. The most current issue (in the blue covers) may not be checked out.

What is my pin number?

Your pin number should be the last four digits of your phone number on file.

The DVD I want is not on the shelf. Can I put it on hold?

Poplar Creek patrons may place holds on DVDs at the media desk or online. Blu-rays and “new” DVDs can never be held and are on “first come, first served basis”. Library cards must be in good standing in order to place a hold on items. DVDs from other libraries may not be placed on hold.

I didn’t have time to watch my DVD, can I renew it?

No. DVDs must be returned by the due date. Fines for late returns are $2.00 per day, per DVD.

How do I print from the computers?

You can add funds to your library card or visitor’s pass at the printing kiosks located throughout the building. Funds need to be added before sending your document to the printer.

How much does printing cost?

Printing costs $0.10 per page for black & white and $0.50 per page for color.

I am printing a resume. Can I put my own paper in the printer or copier?

No. Due to our leasing agreement, you can only print on the paper provided. Labels or stickers are not allowed as well.

The book I want is not in, can I place a hold on it?

Yes! You may stop at any public service desk to place a hold. You may also do so online. Library cards must be in good standing in order to place holds on items.

How do I book a meeting room?

You need to be an adult Poplar Creek card holder. Rooms are for nonprofit meetings. You can’t book a room for a party.

Why do I need two forms of ID when I register?

The photo ID is visual proof of who you are and the current bill shows that you in fact live at that address and that you are within the Poplar Creek Library district.
