Newspapers do not circulate. Current issues are kept in the Media Area for about one week. Recent back issues are kept for the current month plus 2 months in storage - ask at the Reference Desk for these issues. Older and current newspaper articles may be accessed online in our subscription to NewsBank database via computers in the library or from home via the Poplar Creek website. The online holdings in NewsBank include the following:
- The Daily Herald - 1995-current
- Chicago Tribune - 1985-current
- Chicago Tribune Archives - selected historical articles including obituaries from 1860-1984, reproductions of clippings 1920s-1984, and front page articles 1900-1984.
The Library also retains the Chicago Tribune on microfilm from 1976-2007. The microfilm and reader are in the Government Document Department.
